Green Educational Specimens (GES) was founded in 2023, with the goal to make our world’s classrooms safer. We market a nontoxic preservative, GreenMbalm, that can be used on vertebrate and invertebrate specimens for anatomical studies. With the use of our innovative formulation, students from middle school to medical school will be able to learn in an environment free of carcinogens, such as formaldehyde - as our product is 100% formaldehyde free.
In addition to the health and environmental benefits of having formaldehyde free specimens, the quality of the tissue preserved with GreenMbalm is superior, in that it retains the moisture, integrity, and appearance of living tissue.
Our goal at GES is to revolutionize anatomical studies by making our preservative the standard formulation used throughout the industry. Once and for all, the risks in using toxic chemicals in preserved educational specimens will be eliminated, making it possible for all students to learn in a safe, "green" environment.
In a nutshell, eliminating carcinogens from anatomical specimens is not only good for the environment but great for the health of our students around the world. Join us at GES, as we “Make Classrooms Safer”!

There are four tiers of public education that routinely dissect animals for their basic biology class: middle schools, high schools, community colleges & 4-year universities, religious/private/home schools. There are over 20 million students in the US who take a basic biology class annually.
Home-schooling is a growth industry with some 3 to 4 million children learning at their kitchen table. They are also dissecting vertebrate specimens prepared with formaldehyde-based products at that same kitchen table.
There are a combined 2.7 million college biological science majors, over 150 medical schools, 32 veterinary schools, and 25 thousand anatomical pathology labs in the US. Imagine your specimens prepared with GES's non-toxic tissue preservatives capturing the Basic Biology Class and Medical School markets. Scientists, doctors, and moms across the country will thank you.
GreenMBalm is a premium product but is still competitively priced against companies that specialize in producing formaldehyde-based preservatives. Our value proposition makes our case. The value your company can deliver to anatomy and biology students using your specimens prepared with our products makes the switch to GES a very economical and cost-effective choice.
At Green Educational Specimens, we pride ourselves on our fast and dependable delivery network. DownloadLeslie had the bright idea that created this company! She connected the dots and had the vision to make classrooms safer by introducing non-toxic tissue preservatives to the companies that make dissection kits for America's Basic Biology Students. Leslie is the managing partner for GES and has an extensive background in the biological sciences. She earned a master's degree in biology and has taught many different science courses in secondary schools. She was a Professor of Funeral Service Education for over 20 years teaching biology, anatomy, embalming chemistry, pathology, and microbiology. Her background as a licensed embalmer and funeral director make her especially sensitive to the need for non-toxic tissue preservatives.
"When I became aware of the existence of non-toxic tissue preservatives that had no formaldehyde or phenol, I knew I had to get involved. I know GES and GreenMBalm will solve the age-old problem of exposing young science students, medical professionals and embalmers to carcinogens that make up the tissue preservatives currently in use on the market today. It is imperative we protect our future doctors, morticians, and the environment with this non-toxic preservative."
Ironically, David was Leslie's pathology student when he was pursuing a funeral service degree at the community college where he currently works as a Professor of Funeral Service Education teaching pathology, microbiology and the history of funeral service. David had a small role in testing GES' non-toxic fluid on cadavers in the final stages of trial runs. When he had the opportunity to anatomically dissect several cadavers prepared with GreenMBalm he was struck by the life-like appearance and feel of the internal organs, the brain, musculature, and vascular system. Most noticeably there was a lack of caustic odors emanating from the bodies' viscera! Those cadavers were several months to a year old and were stored at room temperature after being injected with GreenMBalm.
"Once I had the opportunity to work with this game-changing tissue preservative, I had to tell my funeral service mentor, Leslie. At first, I was looking at our fluid through the lens of an embalmer. Five minutes into the conversation Leslie asked if the fluid was being tested on vertebrate animal specimens. It quickly became apparent the fluid's application was more extensive than I first thought so we decided to form a company dedicated to changing the education supply industry." David is a managing partner with Green Educational Specimens, owns a funeral home and recently earned an MBA.
